As you prepare for HIMSS 2018, and do a cursory review of all the companies that will exhibit, you will most likely see a variety of themes addressing everything from improving patient care to lowering costs and many things in between. But one theme – The Quiet Revolution of Digital Healthcare – is a bit different than the rest of the pack, and may take a moment to resonate. It happens to be the theme for my company, Konica Minolta. However, the meaning behind this statement became clearer to me this week.
We had a presentation to a large health system in southern California while describing our contribution to the digital health ecosystem and the many different solutions and services we provide as a company in the healthcare IT space. Following the presentation, our client stated, “I never really connected Konica Minolta with healthcare business solutions, but you obviously do an awful lot more than I realized. It became evident that we have been quietly flying under the radar in terms of the dynamic value proposition we can offer to our client.
In my twenty years in the healthcare business solutions industry, I have worked for a few different companies and have seen many, many startup technology providers with interesting products and/or solutions come and go. Konica Minolta is just getting started. Even though we have been in business for almost 150 years and have been servicing healthcare with imaging solutions for decades, we are excited to revolutionize our business to align with the needs of the new and rapidly emerging values-based care model, putting the care of the patient before the volume of services delivered. And with that comes the need for innovative technology and well-funded and stable service and support organizations to deliver those digital health solutions and capabilities that span the continuum of care. This includes comprehensive care data analytics, enterprise imaging, telehealth, interoperable exchange of patient information and services that maintain the confidentiality and integrity of PHI.
We are excited to demonstrate our comprehensive suite of healthcare business solutions and services at HIMSS from March 5-9, 2018 and will also feature a full agenda of educational sessions and panel discussions at our booth – #832 – that address these critical technology components that drive our customers’ digital journey and enable a more connected brand of care delivery.
As a business solutions and technology company, our charter is to deliver digital health solutions to our healthcare customers that enable a better experience for the patient, and in keeping with our history and culture, we’re doing it quietly, confidently, and with the goal of delivering positive outcomes for all.
