Konica Minolta PROKOM Conference Recap

May 23, 2017

PROKOM logoHistory was made in Vienna. The inaugural gathering of Konica Minolta’s PROKOM user community brought together production print experts and users to connect, learn and grow with like-minded people and businesses.

We founded and launched PROKOM, a professional independent community for innovation in print and digital media, in February 2014. Members can actively engage with us and each other about their priorities for future design, functionality, technology and services.

The Power of PROKOM conference in Vienna, held May 10-12, gave more than 170 members from around the world a hands-on opportunity to network, learn and grow their business in a multi-channel world. The U.S. was well represented with attendees who own our flagship AccurioJet KM-1, our Accurio  PRESS C1100 and MGI decorative print devices.

Attendees became immersed in topics ranging from “The Future of Digital IS Print” and “Making Print And Marketing Human” to “So You Want To Be A Print And Marketing Services Provider” and “How To Achieve Predictable Profits.”

For instance, did you know that there’s a whole untapped marketing channel literally at your feet? As people continue to be glued to their phones, where are they looking? They’re looking down at those captivating screens. “So, why not create a marketing campaign using floor graphics,” asks speaker Steve Lister, head of innovation and sustainability at Charterhouse UK.

There’s also revenue to be realized – still – in direct mail. Joy Gendusa, the founder and CEO of Postcard Mania, shared her successes and unique value proposition. Postcard Mania, based in Clearwater, FL does nearly $50 million a year in revenue, creating direct mail campaigns for thousands of small businesses. What started with the business plan of “The only company that creates your campaign based on the results of over 73,792 customers” has grown to encompass “DirectMail2.0 – Valuable information about your direct mail” by marrying postcard traffic with digital marketing techniques.

This is idea-sharing at its best, as customers and thought leaders shared success stories and use cases.

If you’re feeling sad about missing our amazing conference in Vienna, don’t be. We’ve already begun work on the next world-wide conference, set for June 2018 in Budapest. We’ll also have a presence at Print 17 in Chicago, September 10-14. Visit us at booth #2031.

If you aren’t a member – yet – I urge you to sign up. The website also offers a trends survey so you can understand your challenges when it comes to achieving profitable growth in your business.

PROKOM is an essential part of the Konica Minolta graphic communications strategy, which is why we are proud to support this user community to help our customers thrive and grow in an ever-changing print communication industry.
