Joining the Board of Mopria Alliance

June 2, 2014

I remember when I was elected to the 2014 Board of Directors for the IDEAlliance late last year.  When a position of authority or honor is achieved in one’s professional career, it’s typically based on performance.  But when an honor is bestowed via methods of voting or peer selection, it is based more on overall standing and excellence.

Such is the case for Konica Minolta’s recent selection as a Board Member of Mopria Alliance.  Established in September 2013, Mopria Alliance serves the primary goal of providing simple wireless printing from smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices.  The organization is comprised of leading print manufacturers and mobile device manufacturers – all the important parties that can help make this goal possible.

Konica Minolta joined the alliance in January with the intention of helping achieve this objective and by nomination and approval from exiting Mopria members, we announced just this week that we have earned a board (seated executive) member.  Being selected for the board is an honor in that we are not only recognized by peer companies as a leader in the area of mobile printing, but also an influencer.

Continuously striving to meet the needs of our customers, we recognize mobile printing as a necessity for people across nearly all industries.  By joining the ranks of other leading manufacturers on Mopria’s board, we can contribute even more to the efforts of helping achieve universal interoperability and accessibility in mobile printing.
