KMBS U.S.A., Inc. Introduces New Series Of Konica Minolta Digital Multifunction Printer/Copiers

New Series designed for needs of corporate workgroups, departments and small businesses.

RAMSEY, NJ - October 1, 2003 - With a newly designed engine, a range of print/copy speeds, and numerous paper, finishing and print options, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. introduces eight new multifunction peripherals (MFPs). The Konica Minolta DiALTA Di3510-2010 Series is the most versatile, modular and affordable DiALTA to date.

"We are very excited about the products in the Di3510-2010 Series," said Maria Krawsek, product marketing manager for the new DiALTA Series. "We packed these systems full of features and capabilities, some of which are not frequently seen on systems at these speeds. They have the functionality to be a highly valued business tool for many companies. In addition, the new engine and modular options have lowered the cost per copy and total cost of ownership compared to earlier products. We think customers will be pleasantly surprised at the capabilities and cost of these systems."

DiALTA Di3510-2010 Series
With eight models in this new series, customers can tailor their system starting with the print/copy speeds. The new models come in four speeds: 35 ppm, 30 ppm, 25 ppm and 20 ppm. They also come with or without fax capabilities at each speed.

A new engine, designed for reliability, drives all eight models. Adding to their reliability is a smooth paper path design and more durable parts for stronger construction.

The new series offers true 600 x 600 dpi print and copy quality and 400 x 400 dpi fax transmission/reception. Combine that with Konica Minolta's exclusive Micro-Toning High Grade system and even the smallest text and details are sharp, clear and legible. All models support paper sizes up to 11" x 17" and come with 1,250 sheets of standard paper capacity. Paper capacity can be boosted to 4,000 sheets with the optional 2,750-sheet Large Capacity Cabinet. A new optional document feeder holds 80 sheets of paper and runs up to 70 originals per minute. Konica Minolta also added a new tiltable control panel to provide improved access with simple graphics and an on-screen QWERTY keypad for added convenience when entering e-mail and fax information.

Modular Document Finishing Options for Customized Systems
Konica Minolta has greatly expanded the types of document finishing options that are available for systems with these print speeds and as a result, customers can create more professional looking documents. The Di3510-2010 has finishing options that offer sort and group capabilities, multiple position stapling, two- and three-hole punching and even saddle stitch and center-crease capabilities for finished booklets. Simply start with the base finisher, which includes multi-position stapling and add from there. Customers may also add a Hard Disk Drive (HDD) for additional copy, print and scan functionality such as scan-to-HDD, image stamping, and PostScript and PDF font downloads with Pi3505e PS3 +PCL print controller.

Powerful Print Controllers
Konica Minolta has two print controller options for the Di3510-2010 Series. Both are internal controllers, which save space and eliminate the need for outboard connections. The Pi3505e PCL print controller supports PCL5e and PCL6 printing and finishing capabilities. The Pi3505e PS3 +PCL print controller supports PostScript Level 3 for printing complex documents and PCL printing.

Versatile Scan Functions
Scanning from the printer/copier has become an easy way to increase productivity when working with hard copy documents. With the addition of one of two optional scan kits, the Di3510-2010 Series offers a wide array of scanning options, including: scan-to-FTP, scan-to-e-mail, scan-to-PC, scan-to-HDD, TWAIN scanning, IP scanning and Internet faxing. Documents are scanned at up to 600 x 600 dpi and may be saved in PDF or TIFF file formats.

Top of the Line Fax Functionality
Many companies choose to add fax capabilities to their printer/copier. It not only saves them floor space, but can it can make handling faxes easier. For instance, incoming faxes can be forwarded and 11" x 17" input/output paper support lets user send and receive 2-page faxes as a single page. In addition, with Konica Minolta's fax models there is capacity for 540 one-touch keys, 36 indexes, rotation transmission so the fax is delivered in the proper orientation on the receiving fax, and eight Transmission Subscriber ID (TSI) settings so the fax header can be changed in environments where more than one department uses the same DiALTA. With Super G3/33.6 Kbps and JBIG data compression technology, fax transmission is fast, so there's less waiting. Customers with heavy fax volumes may choose to add a second line for uninterrupted fax reception and transmission capabilities.

PageScope Suite Provides Document Processing and Network Management Functions
When customers add a controller to the any model in the Di3510-2010 Series they receive PageScope, Konica Minolta's powerful family of integrated software applications and utilities that help customers manage their documents and devices. PageScope Cabinet Pro is a personal document management application that enables users to display scanned documents in thumbnail form, group related documents, use OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to perform full text search for information, even on documents scanned with a Konica Minolta multifunctional device. OCR also converts image files to editable text or RTF files -- so information can be edited, annotated, updated or even incorporated into new documents.

PageScope Net Care provides network administrators with detailed information about the operating conditions of all output devices containing a Management Information Base (MIB) on a network from any web browser. This means that not only can administrators monitor their Konica Minolta devices but they can see any network printers from Lexmark or HP for example. Network Administrators can also get total print, copy and scan meter reads all from one PC. Using the information available from Net Care helps lower management costs and maintains optimum condition of the devices. Also included is PageScope Light, which allows even casual users to instantly check device conditions on all network-connected Konica Minolta printer/copiers from their desktop, PageScope Network Setup, to set up the control panel from the desktop, PageScope EMS Plug-Ins and PageScope NDPS Gateway, for seamless connections to Enterprise or Novell Distributed Print Services.
