Ramsey, N.J. and Rochester, N.Y. – December 18, 2007 – Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta), a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies, today announced that its color Multifunctional Products (MFPs – print, copy, fax, and scan all in one), AIOs (All-In-Ones) and network printers were rated the best overall for color image quality by The Office Products Analyst.  Published by Industry Analysts, Inc., The Office Products Analyst is the longest running, continuously published publication that focuses exclusively on the office automation industry.  Konica Minolta beat out several direct competitors for the top billing.

In fact, this year, Konica Minolta color devices were rated the best by customers in three out of four categories that comprise The Office Products Analyst survey’s image quality table.  Furthermore, Konica Minolta was also ranked ahead of the pack in Overall Image quality, beating out several other strong brands for the honor.  “Konica Minolta has had a strong history with respect to color image quality,” said Andy Slawetsky, President, Industry Analysts, Inc.  “Based on our research, anyone in the market for a color device with excellent image quality should strongly consider a Konica Minolta product.”

Respondents were asked to rate their equipment on a scale of one to 10, with 10 being the best possible rating. Surveys were conducted via telephone interviews; after a thorough validation process, there were 224 interviews completed, representing 325 installed devices.

Konica Minolta’s proprietary Simitri™ HD color polymerized toner, acclaimed as the next-generation polyermerized toner for the digital era, delivers sharp images of the superb color quality.  Because Simitri HD toner particles are smaller with uniform shape, image reproduction delivers fine lines and small text with clear contours.  Photos and illustrations are reproduced more naturally with improved half-tones.  By including wax in the toner, oil-less fixing has been realized, bringing vivid colors to prints.  Compared to the conventional pulverized toners, the manufacturing of Simitri HD polymerized toner requires less energy, and contributes to environmental preservation, reducing by 40 percent the generation of CO2, NOx or SOx that cause greenhouse gases, and acid rain.
