Celebrating International Women’s Day 2023

March 8, 2023

Together We Can Step Forward and Embrace Equity

Today is International Women’s Day (IWD), a global observance celebrating the accomplishments of women. The day shines a light on the challenges women face in the workplace, including bias, stereotyping and discrimination, all of which are counter to Konica Minolta’s core values (open, honest, inclusive, collaborative, innovative, passionate, customer-centric and accountable). In keeping with this year’s theme of embracing equity, we are encouraging our employees to recognize the role we each play in personifying our values.

Konica Minolta strives to be an organization where diverse individuals can flourish and make an impact with our customer partners in the communities we serve. The company has been supporting IWD in various countries for several years, and for 2023 the tradition continues. Check out how we are bringing our employees together to drive inclusion and the empowerment of women worldwide!

Global Event

On Wednesday, March 8, senior executives and guest speaker Bridget Brennan will have a meaningful conversation about the role of women in the global workforce. With data and rich storytelling, Bridget will describe how women are driving changes in the marketplace and will highlight the immense business opportunity that embracing gender equity offers. Stay tuned to our social media channels for a summary highlighting key points from the event!

DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) Learning

In 2022, Konica Minolta launched the global DEI learning path that enables employees to efficiently discover why diversity is a critical component of high-performing teams. Throughout the month of March, we are promoting the learning path, along with a curated set of courses built for Women’s History Month. These learning opportunities will unlock the essential skills needed to foster inclusion at Konica Minolta.

Community Giving/Citizenship

This year, we are also partnering with Dress for Success for a clothing drive. Dress for Success is a nonprofit organization that provides professional attire for low-income women to help support their job-search and interview process.

Community Partnership

We recently launched a new customer-facing program, Step Together, modeled after Konica Minolta’s internal women’s employee resource group. This customer-based community encourages the advancement of women through leadership development skills training and open forums to share experiences and best practices. Step Together brings the women of the office technology industry together for support, collaboration and inspiration. By sharing DEI best practices with our customers, we are not only deepening our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, but also differentiating ourselves from the competition.

We are making important strides in our DEI efforts. The need for more inclusive and collaborative teams is mission-critical to accomplishing our goals. Together we can embrace equity by creating a more equal, welcoming and innovative workplace that we can all be proud of.

Stay tuned to this space and our social media channels to learn more about our efforts to step forward and embrace equity!
