Mobile Printing Apps Save Lawyers Time

August 5, 2013

It’s no secret that mobile devices have changed the way people work. Recently, I have seen a number of articles highlighting how even technology adverse industries such as the legal community are embracing mobile technologies. It’s true – go into any law office or courtroom and it’s rare to see a lawyer without his or her smart phone or tablet computer.

There are many productivity apps (TranscriptPad, FastCase, Easy Biller, Black’s Law Dictionary) that help lawyers manage their cases, documents and time. However one app that is growing in popularity among lawyers is secure mobile printing such as Konica Minolta’s PageScope Mobile. In such a paper intensive industry, it’s easy to see why.

If a real estate lawyer is with a client closing on a house or doing a refinancing, there are stacks of papers that need to be signed. If your client signs their name incorrectly (forgets to include the middle initial) the document might not be valid and will need to be reprinted and signed again. With the PageScope Mobile app, a lawyer on a secure LAN network can reprint the entire document or just the one page from his or her phone to a networked bizhub MFP. This saves time and eliminates the need to schedule another meeting.

There any many different scenarios as to how mobile printing can be useful. But these apps go beyond the printing of documents.PageScope Mobile allows a lawyer to scan a document from a bizhub MFP and send it to their mobile device. With tools such as PDF Expert, Good Reader and iAnnotate, lawyers can then read or mark up the document directly from their mobile device. This makes contract negotiations easier or even capturing client or case information simple.

As the debate over which apps are the best for the legal community continues, lawyers should not overlook the benefits of mobile printing apps such as PageScope Mobile. Download your free copy of PageScope Mobile for the Apple iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch or Android mobile device today at the Apple Store or Google Play.
