KONICA MINOLTA OFFERS AHT'S ONERIP 2 TO DELIVER ADVANCED WEB-BASED PRINTING FUNCTIONALITY

AHT's OneRIP 2 Web-based Technology Provides Desktop Print/Copy/Scan/Fax Management and Connectivity of up to 10 Devices from a Single Print Controller

RAMSEY, NJ - January 11, 2005 - Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta) today announced an agreement with Advanced Hi-Tech Corporation (AHT) that allows Konica Minolta to offer AHT's OneRIP 2™ Web-based solution for its bizhub product family.  The combination of these technologies delivers true multifunction productivity in a single cost-effective solution.

OneRIP 2 provides users with full desktop control over printing, copying, scanning and faxing, and the ability to connect and manage up to 10 bizhub devices at once - all from a single powerful server.  Operating on an open Windows platform, OneRIP 2's Web-based capabilities allow users to access multiple bizhub devices from anywhere on the network or the Internet, at anytime.  Active and finished job lists can be viewed, settings can be changed, and printers can be added or adjusted at anytime through the user-friendly, OneWeb interface.  This newly designed, Web-based interface offers more concise menus, minimized steps and simplified commands to enable quick and easy navigation.

This solution offers users a host of advanced print options.  OneRIP 2's OneDriver feature allows for direct printing from any software application (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, etc.) and offers a single, consistent driver interface for all B&W devices.  OneRIP 2 enables printing from any platform (Windows, Mac, Linux, Unix), and the capability to print files in PCL, PostScript, PDF, TIFF, JPEG, EPS and ASCII languages and formats.  Additionally, users can set up HotDrop folders to automatically send files to print with specific settings and allow for instant routing and faster printing.  For standard, recurring jobs such as weekly sales reports, the HotTicket feature provides a quick production shortcut by allowing print settings to be saved.

In addition to its print production capabilities, OneRIP 2 offers a number of scan features that let users Scan-to-Email, Scan-to-Hard Drive or Scan-to-FTP, and to HotBox destinations that can be coded for one-touch routing. In addition, PDF and TIFF files can be scanned and saved, file names can be assigned from the bizhub device's control panel, and a scan log that records every job for easy tracking can be maintained. With the optional fax support package, users can fax from the bizhub or a PC; send broadcast faxes to multiple destinations; receive digital fax files on a PC; automatically archive faxes; and maintain transaction logs.

"The combination of our bizhub devices and AHT's OneRIP 2 solution delivers a high-level of flexibility and functionality," said Kevin P. Kern, vice president, product planning and development, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. "Enabling our customers to have access to their devices from anywhere at anytime is a primary goal of our bizhub product line.  In addition, the ability to connect up to 10 devices utilizing a single controller not only delivers clear cost-savings, but offers a remarkable impact on productivity."

"Like Konica Minolta, we strive to deliver true value to our customers as they try to meet the demands of the changing business environment," said Christine Chang, marketing director, AHT. "By offering our technologies in tandem, we are able to enhance the overall benefits and features in a very cost-efficient manner."

OneRIP 2 is available for use with all Konica Minolta bizhub and bizhub PRO monochrome devices with rated speeds of 47 pages per minute and higher.  It is also available for the bizhub CF2002/3102 color MFPs.
